initially I was very excited about Rosabella Beauty, as Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney princess movie. I'm not really sure why it took so long for me to open her.
the back of the box features a full body cartoon of Rosabella, and smaller cartoon portraits of some of the other dolls in the line. you also get Rosabella's bio.
with the plastic out of the way you can see Rosabella a little better, along with her golden brush. she comes witha gold stand that is sandwiched in the cardboard backing. her glasses are strapped to the side of the package, just below the keyhole punchout. you can sort of see it next to the image of her face. she also comes with a "bookmark" storybook. apparently she is classified as a "Rebel"
here she is out of the box. I was disappointed pretty much immediately. I was hoping that her jacket was a separate piece, but her whole fashion is just one item. so I'll call it a dress. the top is white with red rose and green vine patterns on it. there is a little bit of brown "fur" trim on the front to simulate a collar. the skirt is two layers. the bottom layer is a nice yellow color, the over layer is a see-through yellow with roses and vines printed on it in gold.
fortunately, Rosabella comes with a lot of accessories to make up for her terribly disappointing fashion. she wears a gold headband with molded in roses. I guess it could also be a tiara. her earrings (Parental Warning: small parts!) look like candelabras with a rose molded on the front. I think this is a cute reference to Lumiere (sp?).
she also wears a pair of glasses, which I think is unique so far among the princesses. they have large brown frames and a red painted rose molded in where each arm connects. they're pretty cute.
her belt is made of green plastic vines with painted rose details on the front. it matches the pattern on her "jacket" nicely.
she wears a weird bracelet/ring combination that I would think would be really irritating to wear. it is made of gold plastic and has molded in rose, chain, jewel and other details that are hard to discern due to the small size.
Rosabella wears knee-high heeled brown boots. the front part looks a lot like it is supposed to be fur. for a gal who cares about the welfare of beasts, she wears a lot of fur. there are molded in details such as straps and little roses, but there is only one rose painted on each shoe. I'll probably enjoy painting them anyway.
her purse is gold and looks like a storybook. it has rose details molded in, and the one on the clasp is painted red. I think this is a pretty cute item.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: pretty doll, some nice accessories
The Bad: disappointing fashion, Small Parts!
The Verdict: I really looked forward Rosabella Beauty, but I'm still bummed out about her dress. overall, she's pretty nice, and would make a lovely addition to your Ever After High collection.
