while Pizza Pizzazz petite barbie is pretty, I wasn't enthused about her fashions, so I waited to grab her on sale.
the back of the box features pictures of barbie in her fashions and a few shots of some of the other dolls in the giftset line.
with the plastic out of the way you get a better look at everything. I don't know why, but it just looks kind of sparse to me.
barbie's first fashion is a sleeveless shirt and skirt. the shirt is pink with white triangles printed on it and white stitching over all the hems. the skirt has lots of nice details, but they are all printed onto the fabric, so it just feels really cheap. there is some mix and match potential here though.
she is packaged holding a tan purse with long shoulder strap. it has lots of nice molded in details like stitching and a buckle. it reminds me of one of my old purses. it's a nice item, and will see use if I remember to accessorize my dolls.
her first pair of shoes is a pair of black studded ankle boots. they are pretty nice and will probably see use.
instead of jewelry or anything, barbie comes with a black plastic cowboy hat. it's pretty nice and has molded in details, including a hat band.
the second fashion is this weird red dress with white polka dots. it has a single sleeve with a cutout under it. the entire thing is shellacked and covered with glitter. not expecting to get any use out of this, and I'm storing it in it's own ziplock so it doesn't shed glitter on anything else.
her second purse is a red pair of kissy lips.
barbie's second pair of shoes are chunky clunky red platform maryjanes. they have molded in buckle details on the ankle straps. while these seem really impractical, I might get use out of them.
her final fashion is a skirt and Tshirt. the Tshirt has LOVE written on it in red letters, where the V is replaced with a piece of pepperoni pizza. the shirt is white with red trim. the skirt has a split in the front and looks like denim, but feels like the same cheap material they used for the red skirt. some mix and match possibilities here.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: pretty doll, lots of extras
The Bad: no articulation, cheap feeling fashions
The Verdict: unless you're in love with her face, or a fashionista completionist, the Pizza Pizzazz petite giftset is probably skippable.
