Dragon Games Teenage Evil Queen, an Ever After High review

as part of the Dragon Games line, we get Teenage Evil Queen (Raven's mother, as a teenager). I had thought she was an Amazon exclusive, but I'm pretty sure I saw her at walmart recently, so I'm not really sure. review spoiler: she ended up being disappointing.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: detailed accessories, one-off character

The Bad: needs more paint

The Verdict: I would feel disingenuous recommending Teenage Evil Queen. kids will probably still like her, but as a collector I just feel disappointed.

Dragon Games Poppy O'Hair, Walmart exclusive Ever After High review

I never could talk myself into buying the two-pack with Poppy and her sister, but as soon as I saw this Dragon Games Poppy I was interested. I like the more mideval look with the armor.

The Good: neat mideval armor themed doll, bonus pet

The Bad: exclusive, so it might be difficult to find

The Verdict: if you are collecting Ever After High dolls, this Poppy would be a nice addition.

Rosabella Beauty, an Ever After High review

initially I was very excited about Rosabella Beauty, as Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney princess movie. I'm not really sure why it took so long for me to open her.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: pretty doll, some nice accessories

The Bad: disappointing fashion, Small Parts!

The Verdict: I really looked forward Rosabella Beauty, but I'm still bummed out about her dress. overall, she's pretty nice, and would make a lovely addition to your Ever After High collection.

collecting changes

as much as I love the direction Mattel is taking with the fashionistas and other playline barbies, I am less than thrilled about what is happening with Monster High and Ever After High. I haven't seen anything out of those doll lines that I like in a while, so I guess I'm going to stop collecting them.

I still have a bunch of backlogged reviews to get through, and I still have quite a few of each in my collection that I love, so you will still see them here on the blog. but if you are looking for commentary or reviews on the reboots, I don't think there will be any here.

of course it's possible that Mattel will surprise me - it has happened before. but the new baby faced monsters and plastic molded pant princesses just are not my thing.
