I'm not really sure when Barbie Style Raquelle first hit the stores, since my local Walmart doesn't carry much Barbie gear anymore. it took me a while to finally catch her at retail price on Amazon, from a 3rd party seller.
she comes in the OCD aggravating asymmetric box. the back features photos of Raquelle, her accessories, and other dolls in this line.
with the plastic out of the way we get a better look at Raquelle, her purse, and her extra pair of shoes.
Raquelle's fashion consists of three pieces. she wears a leopard print, satin feel cropped jacket over a sleeveless black top. the top has a bit of a floral texture to it that was really hard to photograph. it's a little easier to see in the second photograph. she wears these items with blue pants that have yellow top stitching to mimic jeans.
in the second photo above you can see one of Raquelle's accessories- a very nice plastic gold necklace. you also get a good look at her face. she's pretty but the light brown chunk of hair on the right of the picture kind of bothers me.
to match her necklace, she also wears a wide cuff bracelet made in the same gold plastic. it has a lot of nice molded in jewel or stud details.
she is packaged wearing a chunky pair of black wedge sandals. they have nice molded in buckle details that I intend to bring out with a bit of paint, once I have space to paint again.
her second pair of shoes is a pair of closed toe gold sandal flats. they also have some very nice molded in buckle and chain? details.
Raquelle's final accessory is a very nice red purse with painted gold buckle. it has an interesting molded in texture and lots of nice details.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: nice articulated doll, good mix/match fashion and accessory pieces
The Bad: difficult to find
The Verdict: if you enjoy redressing your dolls and can find her at retail price, Barbie Style Raquelle is worth picking up. while the box presentation is nice, it would personally drive me nuts to have that asymmetric box on my shelves.
