barbie Fashionistas Ken, floral tee, review

confession time: Floral Tee Ken is, I think, my first AA Ken ever. but he's also the first non-swimsuit AA Ken I've seen since rekindling my collection as an adult. I love this guy's friendly smile! he'll probably end up hanging out with my original Artsy, who was, coincidentally, my first AA barbie I think. I bet they'll have fun together.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: handsome gent with a nice smile

The Bad: little articulation, no accessories

The Verdict: Floral Tee Ken is a nice looking dude, but judging by the large numbers I've seen in stores, he's not very popular, so you might be able to wait and grab him on clearance.

Barbie Fashionista, LA Girl, review

I finally got around to opening my LA Girl Fashionista. I was able to find her when she first came out in stores. I actually saw her again recently, so she might still be shipping, even though she has been out a while.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: unique barbie

The Bad: difficult to find

The Verdict: LA Girl Fashionista has been a collector favorite, so if you like her look, I recommend you pick her up sooner rather than later.

Barbie Style, black jacket, review

continuing in the Barbie Style Flats-to-Heels line, we have Barbie in a black jacket. she comes in the same OCD aggravating asymmetrical packaging. I also had to pick her up online.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: pretty articulated Barbie, good mix/match possibilities and shoes

The Bad: difficult to find

The Verdict: if you're into redressing and poseable dolls, Barbie is probably worth picking up. if you're going to leave her boxed, she's probably skipable.

Barbie Style Raquelle Doll, review

I'm not really sure when Barbie Style Raquelle first hit the stores, since my local Walmart doesn't carry much Barbie gear anymore. it took me a while to finally catch her at retail price on Amazon, from a 3rd party seller.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: nice articulated doll, good mix/match fashion and accessory pieces

The Bad: difficult to find

The Verdict: if you enjoy redressing your dolls and can find her at retail price, Barbie Style Raquelle is worth picking up. while the box presentation is nice, it would personally drive me nuts to have that asymmetric box on my shelves.

NEW Curvy Fashionista #37 giftset, Everyday Chic, review

continuing my Fashionista obsession, I ordered the Curvy #37 giftset from Amazon. I'm excited to finally have a Curvy gal with pants.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: nice Curvy barbie, extra fashions and shoes

The Bad: may not fit all barbie clothes

The Verdict: if you want want your Curvy Fashionistas to have a pair of pants to wear the Curvy #37 giftset is currently the only one with pants. she is a pretty doll in her own right, and her other accessories and fashions are worth the price as well.
