NEW Barbie Petite Fashionista #25, Blue Brocade, review

in addition to the curvy bodies, the new Fashionistas also come in petite size (similar to Skipper's height). The first one I picked up is Blue Brocade, aka #25. the height of her hairstyle helps keep the box (standard barbie size) from looking quite so empty.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: beautiful doll, diverse body type and features

The Bad: small parts, limited articulation

The Verdict: as a huge fan of the new Fashionistas I think #25, Blue Brocade, is a good buy. she also would pass as a good friend for Skipper, since Mattel has sadly left this iteration of her friendless, as they are very close in size.

NEW Barbie Curvy Fashionista #22, Chambray Chic, review

I decided to get all the Curvy dolls from the new Fashionistas line first, so Chambray Chic, given the number 22, was the next one I grabbed. of the currently released dolls, she was the one I wanted most. thanks to Mattel giving all of the different haired barbies different names in the 80s and 90s, it's not really Barbie unless it's blonde, and I wanted a Curvy Barbie.

The Bottom Line:

The Good: new body type! with beautiful new headmold!

The Bad: new body type probably won't fit most older clothes, little articulation

The Verdict: if you mainly collect new bodies and/or heads, this is probably the doll you want to pick up first.

I was SUPER excited when Mattel announced the new body types they were releasing for Barbie. finally I was able to find some in my store. since everyone seemed to be clamouring for Sweetheart Stripes, a Curvy doll given the number 27, I went ahead and bought her as soon as I found her in my local store.

The Bad: new body type probably won't fit most older clothes, little articulation

The Verdict: so far she seems to be the most popular doll in the line. if you like her look, I advise you grab her when you see her.
