I Love Fashion Iris Clops is the second release of the character, the first being an SDCC exclusive 2-pack with Manny Taur.
she comes in a fully plastic front coffin window package. the back of the box features a close up cartoon of her face along with a blurb on where Iris does all her shopping. it says she likes to shop at the planetarium gift shop, so it would have been nice if she had some astronomy themed items, but (Spoilers!) she doesn't.
with the front plastic removed you can see Iris' clothes a little better. she doesn't come with a diary or stand or anything else.
her first fashion is a minidress over a pair of leggings. her dress has a giant eye in the center with tie-dye like patterns over the rest of it. the leggings are white with eyeball prints. they kind of disturb me.
Iris wears pretty much all of her accessories in the box. she has a lime green rope belt that is a recast of a previous Lagoona belt. she also carries a unique purse that is dark green covered with three dimensional molded eyeballs. it is abstract enough to where it doesn't creep me out too bad.
she also wears numerous bracelets in various colors.
Iris has a pair of white eyeball earrings and a white necklace. the necklace has an eyeball hanging from a chain with little painted black bat wings. I'm kind of over the whole "add bat wings to it!" thing that Monster High has been doing lately. (Parental Warning: all jewelry is small parts!)
her first pair of shoes is a teal recast of Abbey's shoes. they have a winking eye painted on the right toe and an open eye on the left toe. I don't see there being a lot of redressing opportunities for these shoes. or really most of Iris' clothes, sadly.
her second fashion consists of a magenta tanktop and a skirt. the tanktop has cyclopse skullette screened on it. the skirt has a black and white abstract viney pattern on it with random skullettes interspersed throughout. also, I feel the need to point out that this skirt is downright modest by Monster High standards (or any doll company standards for that matter). she easily passes the fingertip test in it.
I try to match up the fashions the way they are presented in the box. this one was paired with the black ankle strap heels, personally I think these would look better with the next fashion, but that's ok. they have a molded in buckle on the ankle strap that I am looking forward to attacking with a little paint.
in the box this fashion was also paired with a large teal belt. it has a huge buckle like thing on the front of it that is kind of shaped like the mirrors in the background of her boxliner. also, yes, I left her arms popped out. it's easier when I'm doing lots of redressing in a short amount of time.
side note: my Iris has this weird serial number printed on her shoulder in silver.
Iris' final fashion is more of an evening or date night look. she wears a black minidress with multi colored eyeball with batwings printed on it. there is a black with silver sparkles ruffle at the waist. over this she wears a magenta jacket with marblized black patterns on it.
here's a bit of a closeup so you can see the patterns better.
her final piece of jewelry is a teal double stranded choker. this mold has already been used several times.
Iris' final pair of shoes is a recast of one of the werecat twins' basic boots. they are the ones that look like they have bows going across the front. these are molded in magenta plastic with black painted soles. in this color they really look like something Barbie would wear.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: (long awaited) new character!
The Bad: small parts
The Verdict: currently the only easy way to get Iris. pick her up if you are a fan of the character. not sure when (or if) we'll see her again.
