while I'm not really a fan of purses, I ended up buying Gore-geous Accessories Honey Swamp anyway. I was able to justify it to myself for reasons I discuss, and also because I caught her on a bit of a sale.
the back of the box features a closeup drawing of Honey's face, as well as a short blurb about her. unfortunately, removing the plastic really only gives you a better look at the graphics, not the actual doll.
so here's Honey outside of the box. she wears a very simple short dress that has a purple netted collar and a scalloped bottom edge. the print looks kind of scaley and has monster face vines on it. to be honest, it looks like a nightgown to me, and that's why I bought her. I intend to style her as a Dead Tired imitation to hang out with one of my Howleens on my pajama shelf. I really loved the Dead Tired series, and I am upset that they seem to have discontinued it.
here's a closeup of her face. you can see her alligator teeth and reptilian eyes. her hair is a little smushed from being in the box, but I should be able to fix that with a little floofing.
her shoes are purple platform heels. they have lots of viney tendril details molded in. I'm looking forward to enhancing them with a little paint.
Honey is packaged holding a yellow purse. while it has lots of nice molded in details, I don't expect to get use out of it because it looks like an alligator head. it looks like it should open, but there wouldn't really be room for anything in there anyway. I'll probably have fun painting this and then drop it in the storage container.
her second purse looks like a bunch of hanging vines molded in teal plastic, with some purple painted roses over them. the molded in details are very nice, but the paint application was a little sloppy. I'll spruce it up a bit and then see how I feel about it.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: a new version of a rare character
The Bad: simple dress, weird purses
The Verdict: honestly, I can't really think of a compelling reason to recommend Gore-geous Accessories Honey Swamp. she's skippable.
