to be honest with you, I'm not really a fan of Operetta the character, but she often seems to come with the best fashions in any given line. Picture Day Operetta is no exception.
she comes in the coffin style packaging, updated with the Picture Day graphics. the back of the box features a page out of the Monster High Fearbook (their version of a yearbook) that Operetta has annotated too mark her BFF's. there is also an excerpt from her bio.
removed from the outer box we can see that Operetta comes with a purse, trapper-keeper notebook, black stand and hairbrush, and a copy of the Fearbook with stickers.
Operetta's fashion is fabulous. she wears a red strapless dress (although it does have clear plastic straps just to help keep it up) with black animal spots and musical symbol prints. the hem of the skirt has a purple netting ruffle. at the waist there is a lavender netting overlay with black sparkly dots on it.
over her dress she wears a black corset with white printed on lace details. she also wears a very nice letterman jacket made from vinyl feeling material. the body part is purple and it has white sleeves. at the neck, cuffs, and waist is black trip with purple ribbon stripes. the left chest panel has MH on it in white lettering. I love everything about this fashion.
to accessorize Operetta has a black bangle on her left wrist (Parental Warning: small parts!). she also carries a dripping heart shaped music note purse, with a red painted heart on the front. it has a slot in the top, but I don't think anything would fit in the purse other than her bracelet.
her right ear is pierced with a black earring that looks like records.
her left ear is pierced with a combination earring eyemask. the earring is a painted red spider, which connects via black webs to the heart shaped eyepiece.
Operetta's shoes are like a combination of saddle shoes and spats. they are white with black toes, heels, and buttons. the heel actually looks like a musical note, which is a nice addition for Operetta's character. the inside of the foot has a red swirled stripe. under the shoes she wears a pair of black fishnet socks.
her trapper-keeper is a retina searing magenta color. it has spider and web details molded into it that would look neat with a little paint added to them. it does open, but there is nothing inside, and opening it does put stress on the plastic, so you may as well leave it closed.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: beautiful fashion with versatile mix/match possibilities
The Bad: small parts
The Verdict: Picture Day Operetta is a nice version of the character that comes with awesome clothes, and easier to manage hair. I recommend this version highly.
