New Scaremester Catty Noir is the second release of the character, but the first in normal clothes. I'm not much for fancy gowns, so I decided to go with this version, since neither version included a pet.
she comes in the coffin style packaging. the back of the box features a full cartoon of Catty, and a page out of her calender leading up to her first day at Monster High.
removed from the outer box we see that Catty comes with a dark pink trapper keeper notebook, a purse, a black stand and hairbrush, and a diary. the boxliner looks like a school hallway with lockers, which I think is cute.
Catty wears a silver minidress over a pair of leggings. the dress has a pink glass shard pattern on it. the leggings are pink and sparkly with white lace at the leg cuffs.
here is a closeup of her dress. you can also see her pink gloved hands and her belt. it is a black ribbon that has been wrapped around her waist many times with a white cat head buckle charm. not sure why they chose to go with a ribbon instead of an actual molded plastic piece in this case.
for jewelry Catty wears earrings and a necklace. her necklace looks like a cat collar which I think is a really nice detail. her earrings are all the same, and sort of look like teeth? in her right ear she has a silver and dark pink one, and in her left ear she has a single white one. (Parental Warning: very small parts!)
her shoes are one of the more practical pairs I've seen in Monster High, but unfortunately the colors do not lend themselves to much reuse. they are dark pink with silver wedge heels in a glass shard pattern.
Catty's purse feels very familiar, but I can't remember which character has used it before. it is a dark pink skullette that is molded to look quilted. it has a white handle and a white zipper pull handle.
lastly, catty comes with a trapper keeper. it is the same general design as the others that we've seen, but is in a dark pink plastic with glass shard details on it.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: new(ish) character in normal clothes
The Bad: tiny parts
The Verdict: I really thought that Catty Noir was going to be a one time deal, so I was excited that she got a school release. this version is worth picking up.
