ever since the April Fool's joke of 2012, InvisiBilly has been highly anticipated. finally, he's here....
he is part of the New Scaremester line, and comes in the standard coffin-window packaging. the back of the box features his cartoon and a partial bio
removed from the outer box we can see that InvisiBilly comes with a diary, stand, brush, and school related accessories. I really like that the box liner looks like a school hallway. depending on how detailed it is, it may get it's own entry once I finally detach him from it.
InvisiBilly wears a black hoodie with blue stripes, and a pair of bright blue man-pri's with white splotches on them. the pants have nice stitching details to give the illusion of pockets. the cartoon on the back shows them as having cuffs, but the actual doll does not.
he wears a pair of white loafers that have black paint details on them. as you can also see in this picture his lower legs are molded in a light blue translucent plastic that is sprayed in white at the knee to match the rest of his body. this gives him a semi fading-out effect similar to Spectra.
on his right wrist InvisiBilly wears 3 silver plastic chains that are molded as one piece. under his arm he carries a black trapper-keeper notebook that looks as though it would open. he also has a bright white belt.
on his right wrist, InvisiBilly wears a big old-school silver watch that has lots of nice little skulpted details including numbers and tiny buttons.
to top everything off, InvisiBilly has a bright blue sock cap. he also has black gauged earrings and a thick plastic silver chain necklace. additionally, in some of the pictures you can see a black strap across his chest which I believe is for a one strap backpack, but I'll update once I do fully detach him from his packaging.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: new (boy!) character
The Bad: difficult to find
The Verdict: I'm happy that Mattel has made a return back to classic movie monsters with InvisiBilly. If you are a fan of the old monster movies he might be a good addition to your collection. but besides that, he just looks cool, and is one of the few guys who has actual hair.
