one of the main characters of Ever After High is Apple White. she comes in the plastic front packaging, where the cardboard looks like the pages of a book.
the back of the box features a full cartoon of Apple and her bio. through the keyhole punchout you can see part of her gold stand.
with the plastic pulled off you can get a better look at what all comes with Apple. she has a gold brush to match her stand (which is sandwiched between cardboard layers), a purse, and her story bookmark.
Apple's dress is a play on the traditional princess gown, but much shorter. the bodice is red with black ruffles and comes to a point at the waist. the skirt is two levels that are split in the front. the top layer is white and red filigree print with black ruffles. the bottom layer is red with gold filigree. she also wears a cropped cream jacket with gold lattice work on it, that has the traditional poufy princess sleeves.
under her dress Apple wears black mesh stockings and bright red shoes. the shoes have gold paint to emphasize the bow detailing across the top of the foot.
all of the Ever After High ladies wear rings on their right hands (small parts warning!). Apple's is a gold bow. it actually fell off immediately after I got her out of the box, so I'm the one who did the shoddy rubber band job. for collectors, I recommend doing the same. if you're giving this to a kid, you might as well just take the ring away, because it's going to get lost very quickly.
on her left wrist Apple wears a gold bracelet with filigree detailing on it.
Apple's final accessories are a pair of gold bow earrings (more small parts!) and a headband. the headband is a red off center bow with a tiny gold apple topped crown. I'm not sure why, but something about it just feels off to me. she also wears a gold necklace.
lastly, Apple has a purse that is shaped like an apple. the main part of the purse is red and has a stem and leaf brought out with gold paint. the handle is gold plastic. her purse actually opens! though I'm not really sure what would fit inside.
The Bottom Line:
The Good: basic doll version of Apple as she appears in the Ever After High webisodes
The Bad: some small, easily lost, parts
The Verdict: for fans of the webisodes, or a collector who wants to get in on the ground floor of a Mattel series, this is the Apple White to get. if they follow the same formula as Monster High, then Apple will always be wearing this fashion in the show, but it will not appear on shelves again for a number of years, so I recommend picking this up while its still available.
